The above are rituals that have been designated as Korea’s National Intangible Cultural Heritage and are being inherited by each preservation society. presents a project titled “WeMu’s Six Stories”. Western and Korean instruments are used to create modern music based on the traditional form. The performance aims to break away from the shamanic nature of the rituals in Gut and convey the wishes of well-being and luck to the audiences. (Gut is a shamanic ritual to ask, welcome, and repatriate deities, performed by shamans.)

<WeMu> is a group of artists producing new and creative work by utilizing rhythms and melodies from Korean traditional shamanic rituals. The team aims to produce music that can appeal to the public, promote Korean music for all audiences while keeping its originality, and contribute to Korea becoming a world-class cultural powerhouse.
